Another christmas….

Well it’s coming. yep that thing we call christmas. I don’t have much of any spirit due to working in a toy store for 8 years and seeing customers more interested that their kid get what they want instead of the giving part.

So each year I get a gift for my mother and that’s it. I have a brother and sister but my brother doesn’t seem to have much interest in me or my life outside of criticizing it. And my sister has the “ If you don’t buy me something, I won’t buy you anything”. In fact even when I do get her something she still has that attitude.

So Mom’s the only one and it make for a pleasant Christmas.

I try to remember it’s about the messiah’s beginning life. Too bad my family have a good memory.

Have a great christmas. Remember it the foreshadowing of something better. The death and resurrection of the messiah Jesus Christ.

Wisdom from an intellectual

Well I thought I give some info in my way of thinking. As a Christian my way of thinking is more as a fundamentalist than others. But i think from the standpoint that I must think as the original readers of the bible thought. This is at times hard but I found one who helps in my learning processes.

His name is Ben Winterington III and is the professor of New testament at ashbury theological seminary. I find his teaching (both in verbal and written form) to be useful.

You you're interested he has a blog that gives anything from theological teaching to movie reviews. It's at:

Take a look and enjoy!!

Death of part of my past.

I just found out that Larry Norman passed away. He was a musician who influenced a lot of people including me. He was called the father of Christian Rock and for me he was first intro to rock and roll. You see growing up I was not allowed to listen to secular music and Christian music was the only kind I could hear.

Larry was one of the first I heard and he opened my mind to the possibilities of the music out there. In the end I learned to enjoy all kinds of music; from hard rock to classical. I also learned how important it was to share one's faith no matter what the cost. He suffered from bipolar disorder and had physical problems from an accident on an airplane. In the end it was his heart that gave out. But his love for Christ never ended.

He will be missed but he will be remembered. Just listen to the music.......

His last word to us were these:

I feel like a prize in a box of cracker jacks with God's hand reaching down to pick me up. I have been under medical care for months. My wounds are getting bigger. I have trouble breathing. I am ready to fly home.

My brother Charles is right, I won't be here much longer. I can't do anything about it. My heart is too weak. I want to say goodbye to everyone. In the past you have generously supported me with prayer and finance and we will probably still need financial help.

My plan is to be buried in a simple pine box with some flowers inside. But still it will be costly because of funeral arrangement, transportation to the gravesite, entombment, coordination, legal papers etc. However money is not really what I need, I want to say I love you.

I'd like to push back the darkness with my bravest effort. There will be a funeral posted here on the website, in case some of you want to attend. We are not sure of the date when I will die. Goodbye, farewell, we will meet again.

Goodbye, farewell, we'll meet again
Somewhere beyond the sky.
I pray that you will stay with God
Goodbye, my friends, goodbye.

Larry
